Bar Basso

A historical cocktail bar that through the years has become a real Milanese institution, Bar Basso is mostly renowned for its signature cocktail Negroni Sbagliato, invented here and presented in huge scenographic glasses with 6cm x 8cm hand cut ice cubes inside. A true cult bar for sophisticated drinking devotees, Bar Basso was the first-ever bar in Milan to introduce the “aperitif” to everyday people. While before cocktails could only be found at the exclusive lounge bars of luxurious international grand hotels, since 1947 cocktails have been mixed and drunk at this local neighbourhood bar.

Berberè

A pop-aristocratic yet democratic pizza – as defined by the owners themselves! Based on organic wholemeal or alternative wheat flours, sourdough starter and delicious toppings, Berberè have rocked the boat by serving oven-scorched dough with fresh toppings added afterwards. The dough is fermented for 24h, still originating from the original mother yeast they used when first launching back in 2010. Still abiding by their ’fresh is best’ mantra, toppings range from classic margheritas and marinaras to clami and ‘nduja, baked aubergine, and – to honour their first British brand – Yorkshire sausage!

Farini

Farini Venezia was born following the acquisition of a historic venetian bakery. After many years of business, the bakery was closing its doors and the decision was made to carry on the tradition of baking at this site under a new name, Farini. The original bakery is situated in Venice near Rialto bridge, adjacent to the famous fish market. The building dates from the 1300’s and was originally an orphanage, from our research we know that it became a bakery in the late 1800’s.

Hygge

The name itself says it all: this place is ideal for enjoying a Hygge experience. Recommended for brunch or an afternoon snack, perhaps bringing along your knitting or crochet WIP. Hygge wanted to create a small corner where everyone can share experiences and welcome yours, over a good coffee. A place to feel part of something more than a local, neighborhood, city or nation. Hygge like to think of themselves as a common thread between different and somehow connected stories; like that time when you punctured the wheel of the car on Route 66 or when you slept under the Icelandic sky.
